Set Free From Bondage

Satan trades one man for two thousand pigs but that one man is worth far more than even six thousand pigs. He is worth more to Jesus than His own life. Satan kills the pigs in order to turn the people again Jesus, but in so doing everyone sees with their own eyes the great thing Christ has done. Satan fills the people with fear so that they run Jesus out of town, yet Jesus leaves behind the quiet voice which is a constant witness to His love and power.

Jesus Sees Our Hearts and Loves Us

This is a beautiful text if we come to hear in repentance. If we come confessing out sins we find a savoir who knows our hearts and loves us anyway. If we come in arrogance seeking to lift ourselves up to Jesus' level like this rich young man, than we find nothing here.

Jesus Served the Most Worthless

The infant is the ultimate example of a service of love because there is nothing they can give us in return for helping them. Jesus likewise gave His life for us who could never give Him anything in return.

The Mystery of Christ Revealed in Marriage

Marriage is more than two people who love each other. Marriage is the union of two people bound together, not by frail human love, but by the power of Christ. Through marriage Christ gives to us the greatest of all earthly blessings. In marriage we see a picture of Christ and the church.

The Promise is to Our Children

That which we love we share with our children. If we do love the Lord with all our heart and our thankful for all that He has done for us certainly we will want our children also to know His great love and blessings.

Unity in Christ is Built on Forgiveness

We forgive one another because we are one. We work together for the benefit of all according to the gifts Christ has given to each. Thus built into Christ we are strong against the deceit of Satan. But where there is disunity we are easily caught in Satan's deceits.

Jesus Ascended to be With Us

When one leaves, we often make high sounding promises to our family and loved ones. For example we might say, “I’ll be with you in spirit.” This of course means very little. Our loved ones might take some comfort from the fact that though we are far away we still think about them

Return To His Love

Jesus died to wash away our sin and to create a people who live in love. But we will never learn to live in love for one another unless we live at the foot of His cross.
